Being a mom is a hard job, so when I found out the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle offered afternoon tea, I just had to go. I invited my good friend Julie to join me on a Mom’s day out for some champagne, tea, sandwiches and pastries. Whether you are visiting the Seattle area or local to the area, this is a must do!
The Fairmont Olympic is conveniently located in downtown Seattle, so it’s within walking distance to popular attractions such as Pike Place Market, the Seattle Public Library, South Lake Union and much more.
Our annual overseas trip this year was to Europe. We typically go to Asia Pacific, so I was excited to explore new countries. We started our trip in London, took the train to Paris, and ended up in Amsterdam.
Aside from being a beautiful and romantic city, I have several relatives on my maternal side that call Paris home. We took the twins to many sightseeing spots, but also just spent a lot of quality time with family.
Lately, I find myself as a parent of young kids constantly thinking of activities and ways to entertain them. We really enjoy traveling, but don’t always want the hassle of dealing with air travel, so we decided to do a road trip to Hyatt Lost Pines outside of Bastrop, TX.
The resort is about a 2.5 hour drive from central Houston. That is do-able with twins in the car, and best scheduled during their nap or with entertainment. Once you turn into the resort road, you drive up and down small hills for about two miles until you reach the front lobby. There are beautiful lost pines trees surrounding the secluded road that immediately puts takes you away from the busy city life. Almost as if you’re in a Texas hideaway.
