Being a mom is a hard job, so when I found out the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle offered afternoon tea, I just had to go. I invited my good friend Julie to join me on a Mom’s day out for some champagne, tea, sandwiches and pastries. Whether you are visiting the Seattle area or local to the area, this is a must do!
The Fairmont Olympic is conveniently located in downtown Seattle, so it’s within walking distance to popular attractions such as Pike Place Market, the Seattle Public Library, South Lake Union and much more.
When I first approached the valet, I noticed the entrance was very warm and grand. The Fairmont hotel chains typically have an old world charm elegance theme. Upon entering the building, I was immediately greeted by a Christmas village decorated with lights, trains, trees which put a huge grin on my face. It was so fun and festive that I felt guilty for not bringing my kiddos to experience the excitement of the holiday season.I headed up the escalator to meet Julie, and was greeted to even more Christmas trees throughout the entire lobby. So many options for photo ops!We finally made it to the Georgian Restaurant after all the oohing and ahhing from the architecture and holiday decoration. We were promptly seated at a cute table near the window with a Christmas tree behind us.
The waiter did a great job of explaining how the tea time worked sharing that there are two option. You can either go with the afternoon tea for $49 or the champagne afternoon tea for $69 which includes a glass of bubbly (full menu). Afterwards, our waiter took us to the tea leaf station to described the teas and let us smell each one. I decided to go with revitalize, and Julie went with the traditional earl grey.
Once we were settled back at our table with our teas, a martini glass filled with berries arrived. The tea was served in cute little teapots poured through a mini strainer on top of the cup. There was an abundant selection of milk, cream, honey, sugar and whatever else your heart desires.Shortly after, the rest of our scones, sandwiches and pastries were presented at the table. Let me tell y’all, the food was so tasty! There were three different types of sandwiches and a variety of desserts. We spent our time laughing, catching up and stuffing ourselves with all the goodies.
I highly recommend visiting the Fairmont Olympic for afternoon tea whether it’s for a special occasion, nice treat or just because. It has a beautiful atmosphere, great service and wonderful tea selection.
Thank you to the Fairmont Olympic for hosting us. All thoughts are my own.
