If you’re ever in the Seattle area, make sure to add Snoqualmie Falls to your ‘places to visit’ list. Seattle is a great city that offers lots of things to do, but 30 miles from the city center is a serene drive to lush greenery with mountain views and plenty of outdoor activities.
Tip– park across the street for free parking. It has direct access to the hotel/falls via an over the covered street bridge. The area directly in front of the falls charges a fee.
Whether you are visiting for the day or overnight, I highly recommend going to the Salish Lodge and Spa. I decided to make it a spa day, and booked a ninety minute massage. It was very relaxing and had great amenities such as whirlpool, hot and wet sauna.
Tip– look on their website for weekday and monthly specials
After my massage, my family met me for lunch. I originally booked a table at their restaurant downstairs, but was told the upstairs dining area had better views, but was first come first serve. We got lucky and scored a table by the window!
Everything on the menu looked so good, but we finally settled on homemade chips with onion dip, ribs and Hawaiian pizza.
After lunch, we walked down to the waterfall looking point. If you go towards the end, you’ll get the best view of the falls.
We really enjoyed this day excursion, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Seattle area.
