Namaste from Miraval Resort

January 31, 2018

Miraval Resort has always been a destination that I would daydream about visiting. I would always look at the pictures, and think to myself that one day, I will get to see and experience it all.

That finally became a reality for my 35th birthday and successful first year as a new Mom of twins. I decided that it was time to treat myself while dragging my hubby along. He was definitely a good sport.

We flew into Tucson international airport around 12pm. Miraval offers a free shuttle from the airport to resort which made it very convenient for the hour drive. Once we arrived, they offered us this amazing welcome apple cider that was made from the local apples on site.

We quickly checked in, and headed straight for the restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious and super healthy and fresh. Everything they served was creative and made with ingredients I would not normally pick out on my own. There is a daily lunch buffet w salads, soups, cheese, breads, etc. They also offer you a daily special from the kitchen which that day was fish. Everything is inclusive including the tip, so we didn’t need to worry about a thing. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking. Everything was just so peaceful and spiritual that it just immediately puts you in a state of relaxation when staring out at the mountain range. We spent the day exploring the property and the various art hidden around. My favorite spot was next to the river listening to the water and just being in the moment.

There were so many option on activities that started at 8am. We did yoga, exercise bands class, dream catcher making class, desert zip line and beating drums. What I really loved about Miraval is the constant reminder to unplug and be present. My husband even noticed that in all our activities, there would be reminders and encouragement to be mindful and be thankful for what our bodies can do for us. I never imagined I could overcome my fear of heights, but I did by climbing up a 45ft pole to then step off to zip line down.

Overall, Miraval resort exceeded all my expectations. The food quality and taste was amazing, spa was nice, property was kept up perfectly, and service was excellent. I left feeling connected, grateful, and was able to let go of a lot of resentment I had built up in life. I hope that you too can find your inner peace.

Namaste 🙏🏼
