Lake Austin Spa is the perfect getaway to refresh and recharge. It’s about a 30 minute drive from the Austin airport, and a 3 hour drive for us from Houston. I’ve been wanting to come here for years, and when the opportunity became available, I happily went with my sister. It’s a great resort for a girls getaway, mom and daughter trip, or even solo. There were plenty of people at the resort alone which just shows it’s about focusing on bettering yourself internally and externally.
The resort is nestled in the Hill Country right off Lake Austin with an intimate feel. There are only 40 rooms and has a 25K sq ft spa on site that you can literally spend hours at relaxing. The staff does a great job not overbooking and making it feel crowded. There were times when I would be sitting in a lounge room or patio without seeing anyone, and felt like I had the entire place to myself.
My favorite part of the experience was that you can do as little or as much as you feel like each day. Whether it was partaking in the many activities which included Aqua yoga, meditation, water activities and more, or just lounging around and doing nothing. I really took my time slowing down and not rushing to do anything. People are seen walking around in their robes to the spa, lunch/dinner and anywhere you wanted without any judgment!
The grounds are well kept with gardens that the chef cooks from daily. The site manager has been with the resort for 30 years, and her passion truly is seen. You can enjoy her work from each lounge room that designed to look like a living room with views of the garden, pool, lake or spa.
