Every year for the past 4 years, my cousin’s and I have gotten together for an annual trip to connect and to spend an entire weekend together bonding. This year we all voted on Denver, CO. Since there’s a pretty good size group of us (9 + Parker), we all agreed to three components which includes a group tour, an outdoor activity and a brewery. We were able to check all the boxes in Denver.
Denver is a quick 2-2.5 hour direct flight from Houston
Accommodations- Hotel Monaco Denver
Transportation- Uber. About 30 miles from DEN airport to hotel ($30-$35)
Our hotel was centrally located in the Central Business District, so we were easily able to get around via walking or Uber. The best way to see a city is to book a bike tour. We found the Mile High Bike Tour online that covers a lot of the main spots. The tour itself took around 3 hours and was about 10 miles of mainly flat terrain biking. It was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel to the bike shop.
The Sites You Will See on All Tours
- Union Station
- Denver Public Library
- Denver Art Museum
- Colorado Convention Center
- Capitol Building
- Confluence Park
- Coors Field
- 16th Street Pedestrian Mall
- Civic Center Park
- Sports Authority Field, aka. Mile High Stadium
- Denver Performing Arts Complex
- Daniels & Fisher Tower, a.k.a the Clocktower

After your bike tour, make sure to stop by First Draft Brewery for a ‘pour your own’ beer experience and awesome food.
Overall, we had a great time in Denver! We really felt like we saved a lot of time by booking a bike tour and seeing all the sights in one day while also getting in some exercise. Don’t forget to check out the many breweries that Denver has to offer. There are also walking tours dedicated to trying out multiple breweries.
Enjoy!
